“I´m not here. Archive” es una pieza que desde junio de 2011 estoy ofreciendo como donación a museos e instituciones de todo el mundo. La obra consiste en hacer un agujero en los archivos de la colección del museo que la contenga, para ello se dejará la ficha que debería contener los datos de la obra donada completamente en blanco.

Cuando les ofrezco la obra les explico que la pieza puede entenderse de diferentes maneras, de las que yo les ofrezco algunas posibles. Con mi pieza en su colección, el museo podrá contener lo que contiene y lo que no contiene. También se puede tratar de un homenaje al artista desconocido, nadie mejor que un artista desconocido para llevar a cabo este tipo de homenaje. Por otro lado podría tratarse del vacío común que compartimos.

Hasta ahora, todas las instituciones con las que he contactado han declinado la propuesta de donación.

 “I´m not here. Archive” is a piece that, since June 2011, I am offering as a donation to museums and institutions from all over the world. The piece consists on making a gap in the file of the museum´s collection that holds it. To do it, the file that should content the data of the donated piece will be left in blank.

 When I offer the piece, I explain that it can be understood in different ways, I give some possible interpretations. With my piece in the collection, the museum could hold what it holds and what it does not hold. It also could pay homage to the unknown artist, and no one better than an unknown artist to make this kind of homage. On the other hand, it also could deal with the common emptiness that we share.

Thus far all the institutions with which I have contacted, have declined my donation proposal.
